Your data

The personal data that you choose to transmit to us is collected only for the purposes of specific activities, such as:

  • For any inquiry on through-life management of ammunition or any technical question related to the safety and security of conventional ammunition, including on the International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATG)
  • To send an assistance request to the Ammunition Management Advisory Team (AMAT)
  • Inquiries through the general contact form

The information we collect for each activity is directly related to our needs to process your request adequately. Examples of the data we request, includes name, title, organization, address, work experience, etc. You are always asked for your explicit consent to share this information. For newsletters and email updates, we only request email addresses.

You can visit most of this website without stating who you are and without revealing any personal information. We only analyze statistical data (for example, information regarding country location, number of downloads and page visits) in order to monitoring how our website is being used to help us improve the user experience and content.

As per our Cookies Policy, it is possible to disable the cookies that collect this information so that this anonymized information is no longer tracked at all. In the event that you have disabled your cookies and you would like to see content that requires cookies (eg. YouTube videos), you will be asked to re-accept cookies for the GICHD website.

Personal details are not stored or captured without your prior knowledge and consent. The GICHD does not distribute, sell or rent personal details captured through the website to anyone. As a general rule, the GICHD does not disclose any information identifying you personally, except with your permission or where required by Swiss law.

In the unlikely event of a data breach, the GICHD will take all necessary actions to ensure the continued security of its stored data and to communicate any violations within 72 hours to those affected.

Where your data is stored

GICHD works with third parties to run a range of services such as email management, data storage, data analytics and payment processing. We strive to make sure that all your personal and non-personal data is held securely, protected and gets deleted after a certain period of time or at your request.

Personal information submitted through the forms on GICHD websites are held either by the processing party (Paypal donations), or in local, secure databases by Infomaniak.

We retain Personal Data in an identifiable format for the least amount of time necessary to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations. We may retain Personal Data for longer periods than required by law if it is in our legitimate organisations interests and not prohibited by law.
